Becky came to me feeling backed into a corner. She was frustrated about the demands of her job at a time when she was experiencing a lot of stress at home, having recently taken on the responsibility of raising her grandchildren. Becky wanted to build a coaching business so she could retire from corporate life and have more time available to be with her grandkids.
Becky wanted to be home when her granddaughter came home from school, have the time to do things she enjoyed, and feel financially secure so she could experience life more fully. And although she had doubts and was scared, she knew that if nothing changed, she’d be settling. That was not good enough for her.
Becky’s stress level was starting to produce real health issues, so I immediately supported her in developing a solid mindfulness practice. In this way, she was able to be more present for her grandkids when she was with them and was able to provide a steady sense of connection during a pivotal time in their lives.
Then, we got to work on creating a viable new career path. It had been Becky’s dream for many years to start her own coaching business—she’d done trainings and was using coaching skills on a daily basis in her corporate career—but when it came down to it, she wasn’t sure she could leave behind the security of her corporate job. Through coaching, Becky learned that her security would come from a solid strategy and we made a plan to get her business up and running.
As an experienced mediator and trainer with a background as a Director of HR, Becky had a lot to offer. I challenged her to leverage the expertise she had developed in her corporate job into her new brand, so she would really be standing in her power as a leader. My team built her website and business back-end, and Cassandra started implementing her marketing plan.
“Kimberly is amazing in helping you get clear on what you want and how to get there. She is a no bullshit type of guide that will help you achieve your goals.”
When our work ended, Becky was well on her way to running a successful business. Her work/life balance had significantly improved, and she was actively establishing herself as an industry leader in her new niche.
