We are at the crossroads in a tremendous time of change, and there’s a lot of fear coming at all of us. Many of us are experiencing a fear response. It’s natural to be alert during periods of discomfort, whether in our own lives or in the lives of those we love. But remember: fear is toxic for you and everyone else. Take a breath.
Worry, anxiety, fear, and apprehension are all words for the same phenomena: the internal separation from the knowing that all is well. You are making up negative stories about the future which is still in the unknown.
Unfortunately, you can’t talk yourself out of these emotions. There’s only one way out of fear, and talking isn’t it.
When you notice yourself worrying, take it as a sign that you need grounding. Your energy has spiked into your head. The solution is to bring it back into your body.
Get reconnected to your body through your mindfulness practice. Starting with a few intentional deep breaths, accept that the discomfort is here. Notice how it feels in your body. Breathe into the tension and allow your body to relax. If you cry, that’s a positive release and a step in the right direction. If you’re angry, just sit with the feeling quietly, noticing, and give it room to be until it drains down to the Earth.
When you allow your heart to return to love you may experience gratitude for the current state of discomfort as our collective teacher. If you ask, you may learn what is needed from you in order for you to contribute to this greater shift of consciousness at your highest level.
Refusing to live from fear is a powerful decision to live from truth, wisdom, love, and inner peace instead.
Although there are crises and conflicts all around us, every moment we are experiencing is an opportunity to live into the collective future that we are all dreaming into being.
It can be hard to remember that you are not alone, that there are enough of us with skin in this game, and that we will make the shift. That’s normal. But you and I were born for this moment, and our collective transformation will not be denied.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there. (Rumi)
To your success,
